Clear information about financial responsibility
Patients are responsible for copays, deductibles, coinsurance, noncovered services, and balances assigned by the insurer. Insurance representatives may provide estimates, but those conversations do not change coding rules or the services documented during a visit.
Card on file
A valid card on file is required to reserve an appointment. The card may be used for patient responsibility and applicable policy fees as authorized in the financial agreement.
Preventive and problem-oriented care
If medical concerns are evaluated during a preventive visit, the additional work may be billed separately with the appropriate coding. Your insurer determines how the claim is processed.
